Running Journal for the week of January 31-February 5
Disclaimer: As of this week, I was asked by an authority figure at MU not to release names and / or the workouts that I do on these journals. I'm sorry if this disappoints any of my faithful readers.
Monday: a.m. 4 miles by myself at Rock Bridge. 24:45.
p.m. 8 miles on the MKT trail. 51 minutes.
Tuesday:
p.m. Miler-type workout. This workout went exceptionally well. The best workout that I have had in a long time. 8 miles total.
Wednesday:
p.m. 10 miles through Grindstone. This is the worst I have felt in a long time. The workout yesterday really tore me up. It was hard to run 10 miles at 6:30 pace today. 65 minutes.
Thursday: a.m. What a hectic day. I ran 8 miles on the MKT today by myself. We left at 1:30 to go to Notre Dame. Except that we had to wait on someone for about an hour. So, we left at 2:30. With the time change, we didn't get there until after 2 am. What a crappy day.
Friday: a.m. Ran 4 miles by myself on Notre Dame's campus. It is really beautiful here. I went to the meet and watched some races. Other than that, I just sat around the hotel all day.
Saturday: I ran 4:06.26 in the mile today and got 8th place. This is a disappointing race for me. I had this meet so hyped up in my mind for the past year. I was sure that I was going to pr today and it just didn't happen. The Jeffersons ran real well. 11 miles total.
Sunday: Ran 15 miles by myself in Rock Bridge. 1:33.
Weekly total: 68 miles.
Running Journal for the week of February 6-February 13
Monday:
p.m. Ran 6 miles on the MKT trail. 40 minutes.
Tuesday: a.m. 4 miles by myself at Rock Bridge. 25 minutes.
p.m. Distance workout. It was cold and snowing while we ran this workout. I really didn't feel too great. The Notre Dame trip wore me out.
Wednesday:
p.m. 8 miles by myself at Grindstone. 52 minutes. I was thinking about running 10 miles today, until I actually started running. I can't remember the last time that I felt this tired.
Thursday:
p.m. Miler-type workout. 8 miles total. I still don't feel very good.
Friday: a.m. Ran 4 miles by myself in Rock Bridge. I feel a little bit better today. The trip to Iowa State was short and pleasant compared to last week.
Saturday: I ran 4:04.14 in the mile today and won my race. Even though this is the second fastest mile I have ever ran, I am not thrilled by my race today. I wanted to go so much earlier than I did, but was boxed in for nearly the entire race. I felt good today, no doubt a result of the lower mileage that I ran this week. Next week, I need to get my mileage back up.
Sunday: I ran 8 miles today in Rock Bridge. It was pouring down rain when I woke up, so I didn't do my long run today. Coach wanted me to switch it to tomorrow anyway.
Weekly total: 62-64 miles (switching out Sunday for Monday).
