Running Journal for the week of January 24-30

Monday:

p.m.  After a hard weekend, I jogged for 4 miles today.  28:00.

Tuesday:  a.m. 4 miles by myself in Rock Bridge.  24:40

p.m.  8 X 400 with 90 seconds rest in 61, 61, 60, 60, 60, 60, 60, 60.  This was a good first miler type workout.  I feel really slow right now though.  Oh well.  8 miles total.

Wednesday:

p.m.  10 miles with Chase in Grindstone.  64 minutes.

Thursday:  a.m.  4 miles by myself in Rock Bridge.  25 minutes.

p.m.  10 miles with Colten in Grindsotne.  63 minutes.

Friday:

p.m.  4 X 5 minute surges in the middle of a distance run.  I accidentally ran a little further than I wanted to.  70 minutes total.  10 + miles.

Saturday:  a.m.  15 + miles by myself in Rock Bridge and on surrounding roads.  It has snowed 2 times in the last two days or something, so this run was killing me towards the end.

Sunday:  a.m.  Another easy 4 miles by myself in Rock Bridge.  25:40.

Weekly total:  69-70 miles.

This weekend I was supposed to run a 3K at Northern Iowa, but on Wednesday Coach Wilmes told me that I wasn't going to race.  Apparently, not a lot of guys were signed up to run the 3K and he didn't think it would be very fast.  He ended up being right.  So, this weekend I stayed home, did a ton of homework, and went to bed early (10 p.m.) on Friday and Saturday night like a nerd (which is what I always do).  I am looking forward to racing at Notre Dame and Iowa State the next two weeks.
