Finally the season has started. I competed in my first meet of the this season running at the U of Minnesota this past Saturday. I've never been so excited about a track meet before. I probably slept a total of 5 hours that night. In the prelims of the 60 I fell asleep in the blocks and was behind, but was able to come back to clock 6.88. In the finals I had a better start but I definetly didn't feel as relaxed as I did in the prelim. As far as a time goes, there wasn't one because the finishlynx system didn't operate during are race. I'm guessing around 6.79-6.84 It was tight race between me, Starr Roberts, and Robb Merrit but I think won. I got lane 6 in the 200 which is good but I don't really care for being out in front by myself. The whole race I tried to imagine a another person infront of me but its just not the same. I got out pretty good and lead until about 150 then my teamate came past and Starr came up, I had a unsual kick the last 50 and I was able to come back and take 2nd in 21.83 with Starr winning in 21.75. Overall, I think it was a decent start to my season. 21.83 was my best opener in the 200 since I've been in college and considering the hard week of practice that we had it was pretty good. Next week we are at home for the Bison Open on Friday. I think I'm going to run the 60-200 or 60-4x4 this week.
